Gisselle Singleton is the owner of Felicity and mother of two. As a mother of a ten-year-old African American daughter, it was very hard to find beauty services that catered to her needs. It was important for my daughter to learn the importance of caring for her hair, skin and nails. I wanted to make sure those lessons were reinforced at the salons we took her to, but there were no services available for my little princess. We had to take her to adult salons which didn’t offer an environment that was conducive to her needs nor her age. Even though we found a few children salons in the city, none specialized in African American hair and skin care or offered other beauty services such as manicures and pedicures for children. After months of research and recognizing the need for services to children of all ethnicities, I decided I would open “Felicity – A Salon of Elegance for Children” and became passionate about its success.
